  • To preserve the installations, the galleries are kept at a reasonably cold temperature. If you have children, you might want to think about bringing a stole or scarf.
  • For the kayak tour, it is advised to bring a towel and some swimwear.

What is prohibited

  • Certain sections with sensitive displays prohibit the use of flash photography.
  • Water and food are not allowed in the galleries at all.
  • Backpacks and bags are not permitted inside the museum for security reasons. Your possessions can be left in the designated cloakroom.

  • Wheelchair users should not partake in this adventure.
  • Pregnant ladies and children under the age of six should not participate in the kayak tour.

  • To fully examine the artwork and navigate the museum, download the free app on your iOS or Android device. Remember to bring your headphones!
  • Children under the age of eighteen must be escorted by an adult.
  • Unless you are a family, in which case twin kayaks will be supplied, only single kayaks are available for the excursion.

  • Prior to scheduling the kayak tour, check the tides. At low tide, certain channels—like the Yellow Route—are inaccessible.
  • Amenities include free parking, paid valet parking, free WiFi, wheelchair and pram rentals, and a prayer room.

The following exhibitions are scheduled by Louvre Abu Dhabi for the 2023–24 Cultural Season:

  • The children's exhibition 'Picturing the Cosmos' (18 July 2023 – June 2025) takes them on a trip through the various ways that art has represented space throughout history.
  • "Letters of Light" (September 13, 2023–January 14, 2024) is an exhibition that explores the context, practices, and role of the Quran, the Christian Bible (Old and New Testaments), and the Hebrew Bible (Tanakh) in intellectual and creative history.
  • The exhibition 'Cartier, Islamic Inspiration and Modern Design', which runs from November 15, 2023, to March 24, 2024, focuses on how Islamic arts have influenced Cartier's design from the turn of the 20th century to the present.
  • An open-call contemporary art exhibition called "Louvre Abu Dhabi Art Here 2023" will take place outside for the first time and will run from November 21, 2023, to February 2, 2024. One participant will receive the Richard Mille Art Prize.
  • The exhibition "Fables from East and West" (20 Mar-2024–14 Jul-2024) explores the origins and development of animal tales from various cultures via the display of paintings, illustrated manuscripts, and modern artwork.
